The Bloom Workshop

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to be able to attend The Bloom Workshop held at the beautiful Bieker Farms in Ada, Michigan, just outside of Grand Rapids. It was BEAUTIFUL. Rustic, airy, bright – absolutely gorgeous! Apple trees all over the property, winding roads, a pond, just an all in one venue – a photographers dream!

Okay! On to the workshop! It was such a wonderful opportunity to be able to connect with so many different creatives, be it photographers, graphic designers, interior designers, the list goes on. Being able to hear Michaela of Michaela Noelle Designs and Ashley of Ashley Slater Photography speak to us all about so many aspects of this industry, from a personal perspectives, was so valuable! They both have so many great insights and answered so many questions yesterday, I can’t be more thankful for them coming together and creating this wonderful workshop experience!

Attending this workshop not only gave us the opportunity to learn and ask questions but it helps connect so many people from the area (and outside the area!) Creating a sense of community for us all. I am newer to this area, so attending a workshop like this really helps connect and create that sense of community in this industry. Photographers, florists, event planners, graphic designers, interior designers, we all go so hand in hand together that having workshops like this, to listen, learn, speak at, is becoming vital! This is an incredibly oversaturated industry – just keepin it real – but it doesn’t have to mean that we all can’t connect and work together as a community. Like one of my favorite wedding photog gals Amanda Hedepeth says , “community over competition!” She’s so right!

This workshop had an amazing styled shoot set up with two beautiful couples, gorgeous gowns, and beautiful blooms. It was so much fun getting to shoot these couples and details, I can’t wait to be able to share them! For now I can share a sneak peek (they’re being submitted for publication, once they’re picked up I will blog all the images :))
